Mr. Ahlberg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania and Florida and brings extensive experience across federal service, program leadership, and clinical practice, offering clients a uniquely informed perspective on both individual functioning and complex service systems.
He has extensive experience coordinating with attorneys, child advocates, clinical providers, and case management teams in complex, multidisciplinary environments. This work includes participation in high-stakes decision-making processes involving safety, risk assessment, placement considerations, and reunification planning.
Over nine years with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Mr. Ahlberg oversaw the care and custody of unaccompanied children and made determinations on level of care placement and release. This work required ongoing evaluation of safety, risk, and best-interest considerations within highly regulated, high-stakes decision-making environments—experience that directly informs Mr. Ahlberg's approach to forensic evaluation and court-involved matters.
An additional seven years of program management experience in child welfare and juvenile justice settings supports a systems-aware approach to consultation, policy development, and quality assurance. Clients benefit from guidance grounded in operational realities, regulatory expectations, and multidisciplinary coordination across residential and mental health service environments.
Mr. Ahlberg also brings more than ten years of licensed clinical experience, including completion of comprehensive biopsychosocial and behavioral health evaluations and provision of individual and family therapy to adults, adolescents, and children. This clinical foundation ensures that evaluations and recommendations are developmentally informed, trauma-aware, and responsive to the complexity of cases presented in legal and organizational contexts.
Educational preparation includes a Master of Social Work with a concentration in mental health from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Jane Addams College of Social Work, and a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in writing from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Ahlberg also holds a Certificate in Mitigation from the National Forensic Social Work Alliance, supporting specialized work in criminal mitigation and sentencing-related assessment.
